- Extended hotel and club trading - Beijing Olympics
The Minister for Gaming and Racing has approved extended trading hours for hotels and clubs for some nights during the Beijing Olympics.
The new Liquor Regulation 2008 (PDF 755kb) has been made by the Governor, and was published in the 27 June edition of the Government Gazette. The Regulation commences on 1 July 2008 along with the new Liquor Act 2007, and contains laws to support the operation of the Act.
- New Liquor Laws - The Government's wide ranging reforms to the NSW liquor laws and regulatory framework were passed by the NSW Parliament on 5 December 2007. These laws will come into force from 1 July 2008.

Liquor Amendment (Sunday Trading) Regulation (No 3) 2006
The Minister for Gaming and Racing has approved extended trading hours for hotels until midnight on Sundays in January and February 2007 during the Commonwealth Bank International Cricket Series. -
Gaming Machines Amendment (Retail Shopping Centres) Regulation 2006
This regulation was signed by the Governor on 20 December 2006, and commenced upon gazettal on 22 December 2006. -
Registered Clubs Amendment Act 2006
The Act received assent on 27 November 2006, and is being implemented in stages. Stage one provisions and an associated regulation - Registered Clubs Amendment (Exceptions to 5 kilometre Rule) Regulation 2006 - commenced on 22 December 2006. Other provisions in the Act (including changes to club amalgamations, financial reporting provisions, disposal of club property, and club elections) will take effect once supporting regulations have been prepared. Work on the regulations will occur early in 2007, and will be undertaken in close consultation with the Club Industry Working Group. -
Registered Clubs Amendment Bill 2006
The Bill was introduced into the NSW Parliament on 14 November 2006. The Bill proposes changes to club amalgamations, club governance, financial reporting and disclosure requirements, and the disposal of club property. -

The Racing Legislation Amendment Bill 2006 was introduced into the NSW Parliament on 20 October 2006. -

Free water mandatory from 1 August 2004
From 1 August 2004 onwards, it is a condition of a liquor licence and a certificate of registration that free drinking water must be available to patrons at all times liquor is sold or supplied.
